Farm Mechanization's Impact on Recycling

Abstract:

Leveraging over 30 years of farm process mechanization experience, Andros Engineering Corporation has successfully developed and marketed a system for collecting agricultural plastics. The presentation will focus on the impact of machinery selection when installing, removing, and retrieving agricultural plastics for recycling. Mechanizing plastic involved processes end-to-end improves the recyclability of the plastic, reduces labor costs, and densifies the material for transport. While Andros machinery will be featured, the principles will be applicable to a wide range of farming practices. Additionally, time permitting, AEC can present on their ongoing development of a mobile strawberry mulch plastic pre-processing plant.

Bio:

Ben Andros is the President of Andros Engineering Corporation. While at AEC he has worked in various technical and leadership roles. Ben was appointed President of AEC in January 2023. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the California Maritime Academy and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
